Witness

In the Book of Acts, we read that before he ascended into heaven, Jesus said to his apostles in Acts 1: 8b, "…and you will be my witnesses…" As Christians, we follow in the footsteps of the apostles and we are to be witnesses to the presence and power of Christ in our lives and in the church.
We witness the good news of Jesus Christ through those activities that help us grow in faith, and live out that faith in our daily lives.

The ministries of St Mark that help us to love God and love each other are those that are part of our witness to the good news of Jesus. These ministries include the faith-forming ministries of the church, as well as those ministries that allow us to share what we have with others in love toward our neighbor.

Eucharistic Ministers

Eucharistic Ministers bring the sacrament to homebound members as they are assigned. There is also a card ministry to our homebound members.

Food Pantry

St Mark is a distribution site for the Churches United Food Pantry. The food pantry is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 to 2. (Closed on holidays)
St Mark provides a large share of the food distributed but donations are welcome during the pantry hours. Please no outdated items or open items.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

If you knit, crochet, or both or are willing and wanting to learn we invite you to our group. This group meets on the 2nd Saturday morning of each month at 10 AM at the church. Our time together includes time of prayer and fellowship. You may choose to finish your work in the interim, or just stop in once in a while. Our prayer shawls are given to anyone in the community “who may need a sign of sustaining presence in their life” that the shawl may “encircle them with healing from pain, consolation for loneliness, and joy in sorrow or gladness”. For more information about the group or in need of a prayer shawl please contact the church office at stmark@stmarkcares.org or by calling 563.322.5318.

Funeral Luncheon Helpers

If you have a knack for hospitality, this may be a group to consider joining. Our Funeral Luncheon helpers help set up, serve, and clean up for funeral luncheons. This is a most important and impressionable time for family and friends who are grieving. Please contact the church office by calling 563.322.5318.
